At the HITEC Toronto 2023 trade show, the Lodging Magazine team stopped by the INTELITY booth to speak with INTELITY’s Senior VP of Sales & General Manager of Customer Relations, Benjamin Keller.

Benjamin Keller Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Relations here at INTELITY. At INTELITY, what do we do? We provide technology to hospitality. What does that mean? We do everything from mobile check-in to entering payment to ID capture to mobile key. We also provide in-room tablets as well. So the ability to place an IRD order or the ability to put the phone on the tablet or in-room controls too. Really kind of cover, that entire guest experience here at INTELITY.
Written Question: Why is the Hospitality Technology space so exciting right now?
Yeah, the tech space for hospitality is really exciting. And I think one of the main drivers of that are all the different integrations and technologies that are coming into the space. We just announced an integration with Freshbeds, for example, the ability to control your beds or sleeping in via the tablet or the phone, being able to turn the lights on or off, the ability to make a phone call from your tablet. For us, it’s exciting because it’s evolving. Six years ago, three years ago, one month ago, right. It is different from what hotelier want today.
Written Question: What part of Hospitality do you think could benefit from better tech options?
I think it comes down to, you know, a variety of different aspects. One, for example is, the leisure travel, right, what are they expecting when they walk into the room? The business traveler, what are they expecting right pre-stay, during their stay and throughout that, you know, they’re not getting anywhere else. So for us. There’s a lot of different ways we look at technology and hospitality, and one of the main drivers of that is, hey, how do we take that individual guests, that group of guests and make that experience unique and customizable to them.
Written Question: What do you think is the next big thing for hotel tech?
The next big thing in hospitality technology, I’m sure I was gonna say Chat GPT. So they’re gonna say, you know, AI, I really think for technology in general, how do you make it as seamless as possible to engage with that guest? It may seem very rudimentary. However, you know here at INTELITY, we’re always thinking about the various integrations and the ways: To say hey, how do you? Put that mobile key in that guest hand without downloading an app. How do you get that tablet on, y know, in the room for them? The ability to do everything they want right in their room without having to call, you know, 15 different people. So for us, we kind of think of it as the ecosystem and making it as seamless as possible for the hotels and the guests’ interactions.
